Cutting-edge research and insights from the 51²è¹Ýapp Center for Health Transformationâ„¢Ìý— a unique partnership between 51²è¹Ýapp, the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, and the Center for Advanced Hindsight at Duke University — is showing us new ways to effect positive change in the millions of individuals we serve.
The 51²è¹Ýapp Center for Health TransformationTM creates an intersection between 51²è¹Ýapp’s insights on managed care and the research and evaluation expertise of the Brown School and the Center for Advanced Hindsight. By interpreting the science of behavior change and developing practical strategies and interventions that result in sustainable health behavior change, the 51²è¹Ýapp Center is positioned to improve the effectiveness of healthcare delivery while influencing positive health outcomes and reducing the economic burdens of poor health on individuals and society.
The 51²è¹Ýapp Center is currently working with 51²è¹Ýapp’s Louisiana, Missouri and Florida health plans to evaluate the impact peer coaches have on reducing childhood obesity, specifically dietary and activity habits. The 51²è¹Ýapp Center is also looking beyond the instruction that members receive about healthy behaviors to learn how neighbors, family members, and friends can influence and work together for better health outcomes.
